Fishing Report – 15th Sept 2023
Beaches
Good sized whiting are being caught as well as bream, salmon and trevally. Best spots are Dee Why, Curl Curl, or South Narrabeen.
Our king beach worms are the ideal bait for the whiting and bream.
Narrabeen Lake
Council has opened the entrance again this week.
Some nice size bream are being caught near the Ocean St bridge area with reports of flathead being taken near the Boatshed ( Limani ), the Narrabeen bridge area and Pipe Clay Point. Best baits are soft-plastics, Hawkesbury prawns, and salted WA pilchards.
Offshore
Surface temp 18.5. Snapper around 2kg range being caught in areas of 50m reefs. Taking a variety of baits, yakkas, fresh squid, mullet strips or slimy mackerel.
Some large kings are about as well so prepare to have your arms stretched.
Flathead have been taken on the drift at Mona Vale, Freshwater and Palm Beach in the 40 to 50m depths.
Pittwater and Sydney Harbour
Kingfish are still preset in the Harbour with fresh squid being the best bait.
Luderick are also in good numbers from harbour rock platforms and ferry wharfs.
Trevally are still in good numbers in Pittwater with plenty of berley required to bring them on.
